Let me get the right paperwork. "Dead killer chasing..." Would you say he was more Dawn of the Dead", or "Night of the Living Dead?"—Nicholas Goode, to Samantha Fraser and Deena Johnson, mocking them in Fear Street Part 1: 1994
Sheriff Nicholas "Nick" Goode was the eldest son of Joseph Goode and his wife, the older brother of William "Will" Goode and former love interest of Christine "Ziggy" Berman. He was the Sheriff of Sunnyvale up until his death in 1994.
He was a counsellor at Camp Nightwing during the summer of 1978 and was the one who sold the souls of Thomas "Tommy" Slater and Ryan Torres to Satan. In a final desperate attempt to stop Deena Johnson from learning the truth, he also sacrificed Samantha "Sam" Fraser to kill her though Sam was rescued and Nick was killed.
He appeared in Fear Street Part 1: 1994 and its following two sequels, Fear Street Part 2: 1978 and Fear Street Part 3: 1666 portrayed as an adult by Ashley Zukerman and by Ted Sutherland as a teenager in the second film.
History[]
Nick was born between 1960 to 1961 to his parents in Sunnyvale, Ohio, United States as their eldest son. Prior to the 12th of July, 1978, he was hired at Camp Nightwing for the week though before the 19th, Joseph passed away leaving Nick to follow in his footsteps.
On the 19th of July, Nick alongside Kurt found the former's younger brother, Will, Sheila, Annie and Becky torturing Christine at the Hanging Tree though stopped the four before they caused more damage than they had already inflicted upon her with Nick threatening his brother with telling their mother. After he left the area with Christine, he advised her to go see Nurse Mary Lane though Christine claimed she would be fine before walking away, Nick then visited the Witch's Mark to sacrifice the soul of Tommy.
When Christine planned to get revenge on Sheila and her friends for what they had done to her, Nick found her inside cabin five where he took notice of the vandalism on the walls that insulted the camper for how she was known to cause trouble during the first week of camp. Nick then offered to help after seeing Christine's plan bore a resemblance to a scene from Carrie before taking her to the nature cabin.
Inside the cabin, Nick and Christine got as many bugs and insects as they could and went to the outhouses where they placed them inside a bucket and hoisted it so that once a rope was pulled, the bugs would spill on Sheila with Nick claiming that it was Will who wanted to see Sheila there. Once Sheila was inside, the two pulled the rope and finished their revenge together before leaving to go bond elsewhere. While still inside, the two then shared a small kiss before they heard screams from outside.
During the massacre, the two hid in the cabin and away from the killings though Christine was unaware until the news broke out and they went to the mess hall to reunite with the other survivors. Christine then realized her sister, Cindy Berman, was still out and in danger with Nick insisting he would go find her with Gary's help, he promises her to keep her safe much to the concern by those around them due to her being a camper and him being a counsellor but soon left before Christine remembered Sheila was also still out and left to follow after him.
Nick then attempted to find survivors and was founded by Kurt who questioned if he had anything to do with the killings due to the blood on him though Nick denied it. Once back with Christine in the nature cabin, Tommy appeared and attempted to kill Christine though Nick jumped in the way and was cut on the ankle by Tommy's axe, an injury he continued to have even into his adulthood.
Later that night when Christine and Cindy attempted to stop the curse, both were killed but Christine was brought back to life by Nick.
Sometime after the incident, Nick and Christine continued to be close to each other and had a Judy Bloom book club but eventually cut ties before 1994. On September 30, 1994, Nick then went back to the Witch's Mark now located within Shadyside Mall and gave up Ryan's soul to Satan where once Heather Watkins was being stabbed to death, he appeared and shot Ryan in the forehead to kill him for which he was deemed a hero.
When Deena Johnson and her brother, girlfriend and friends were attacked by Ryan, Deena and Sam went to the Shadyside Police Station to file a report though Nick continued to pretend he did not believe them as he confirmed he had been the one to kill Ryan even showing the two the picture but still took up their offer and visited Shadyside hospital where he found the bodies of Nurse Beddy and Nurse Stephanie. When Ryan had been supposedly been stopped on October 1, Nick went to Christine's house to give her a written warning that the curse was back.
Two nights later, he realized that the Johnson siblings had learned the truth of what he and his family had done and attempted to stop them by having the killers go after them only to be tricked in the mall where he was covered in blood but managed to get away where he was chased down by Deena, the two fought with Nick declaring he would kill the young Shadysider though Deena forced him to see all his victims before she gained the upper-hand and stabbed him in the eye which caused him to die, breaking the curse and putting the killers' souls to rest at long last.
Aftermath[]
When his death was reported, Will was asked by reporters about the truth of his family's pact with Satan being exposed though Will admitted he had no knowledge on what his brother or ancestors had done.
