Joshua "Josh" Johnson is the son of Mr. Johnson and the younger brother of Deena Johnson and a main character in the Fear Street trilogy.
He appears in the trilogy portrayed by Benjamin Flores Jr.
Early life[]
Josh was born to two unnamed parents in Shadyside around 1979 as the younger brother of Deena. At some point, he became interested in the history of his town's killers even going as far as to gather newspaper articles and clippings about their sprees where he became an expert on them and spoke about them to a friend he met online one day.
30th September 1994- 3rd October 1994[]
Whilst his sister finished her note off to Samantha "Sam" Fraser, Josh stayed downstairs in the basement where he spoke online to a friend about the recent murder of Heather Watkins where the two also spoke about the other known Shadyside Killers but his conversation soon ended once his sister got him to go to school with her.
At school, Josh came into eye contact with Kate Schmidt whom he had romantic feelings for causing him to recite the Konami code quietly as she walked past him. That night at home, Josh gets up and heads over for the pizza that had been cooking much to the annoyance of his sister who had just got up to go answer the door, once the twins that Kate and Simon Kalivoda had been dropped off at Mary Lane's house, Josh called their current situation of being stalked whack, something with Kate agreed with as the group continued to decide what to do under the impression that Peter Brodywas stalking them and not the recently deceased Ryan Torres.
Shortly after Simon had been attacked by Ruby Lane, Josh recognised the latter's signature weapon and identified which killer it was as he then explained who the other killers were to Simon, Kate and his sister. He then told the legend of Sarah Fier where he mentioned she would possess innocent Shadysiders and make them kill as revenge for being hanged in 1666.
In an effort to stop Sarah, Josh and the others made up a plan that involved going to their school and trapping the killers within the bathroom and burning them. During their plan, the group split up with Josh pairing up with Kate where the two headed into another bathroom stall where Josh checked for any signs of injuries on Kate where upon leaving, he and the others were teased by Simon who asked if they had been to pound-town. With their plan being a failure, the group then headed out to the store in which Kate and Simon worked as a final effort to stop the curse. Josh then witnessed Tommy axe Simon in the head killing him.
Josh then accompanied his sister to meet "C.Berman" once Sam had been possessed, C.Berman then told the Johnson siblings about how she survived the Camp Nightwing massacre of 1978. Josh and Deena watched on in surprise as the survivor was then revealed to be Ziggy in the story. Ziggy then assisted in helping the two and Martin P. Franklin in their final effort to stop the curse.
During the Shadyside Mall trap, Josh ended up being attacked and had his arm broken but was able to survive and have it placed in a cast prior to returning to school where he went to meet up with the girl he was speaking to online.
