As Sam is left in the car boot, Deena and her brother try sneaking into the house but do not go unnoticed by its owner who threatens them. As she lets them inside, she demands to know who they are but is told by Deena she was the one who calls her about wanting to know how to end the curse. Outside, Berman explains that nothing is done and refuses to help the two and after Sam who is now thrashing around in the boot, doubles down and continues to refuse help and calls the possessed girl an "it" not wanting to associate herself with the trouble the two are in.

After Deena manages to convince her, Berman takes the two back inside her house and grabs a book, as she looks at a picture, she tells the two that a week after she started attending camp, her sister was killed. She then starts explaining what happened on the night of 19th of July ,1978.

19th of July 1978[]

That afternoon, Ziggy, Camp Nightwing's known troublemaker runs through the woods in an attempt to escape from whoever is chasing after her, as she swears about the new predicament she found herself in, she ends up slamming into the arm of Will Goode and confronted by Sheila, Annie and Becky who take her to the tree and say the chant. As Ziggy is is strung up to the branch above, she yells at Sheila and elbows her in the face. Wanting to get revenge on Ziggy for apparently stealing from her, Sheila demands a lighter but her actions are called out but Will hesitantly hands over a lighter. Sheila then takes it and goes to burn Ziggy's arm, something her friends call her out on but before she can continue any further, Nick and Kurt run over and Nick threatens his brother by saying he'll tell their mother about what just happened.

As Kurt and Nick line them up, Kurt demands to know what happened, Sheila begins accusing Ziggy of being a thief and says that they all saw her leaving their cabin after taking some money. Without asking Ziggy for her side of the story, Kurt sides with the others and says that the troublemaking Ziggy is done at Nightwing and lists the others issues she has caused that week since being there. Sheila then claims Ziggy's actions were only because she was possessed by the witch, Ziggy goes to intervene but is stopped by Nick who grabs her, the former expresses her dislikes for the Goodes but leaves the area with Nick. She walks away and Kurt quietly remarks that Ziggy is a bitch.

Concerned for the burn mark, Nick suggests Ziggy should visit Nurse Lane but she instead retorts as she calls him the "King of Sunnyvale" and sarcastically thanks him for rescuing "Poor Shadyside" her. She then walks away and leaves Nick. As Cindy and Tommy clean the outhouses, Cindy expresses her distaste for getting her clean white shirt dirty but continues to do her work with her boyfriend, Tommy, as the two go to kiss, Tommy goes to grab Cindy's butt but she soon stops him, as the two prepare to continue their chores, Cindy notices that they're missing someone.

In another cabin, the missing someone is Alice who is having intercourse with her boyfriend and fellow counselor Arnie. As Cindy steps inside, she ends up witnessing the two but the two stop. As Cindy tries getting the two to do their jobs, Alice and Arnie promise to only do as she says if she can acquire more drugs for them from Nurse Lane, something Cindy disagrees to and then leaves the cabin to find her sister. Ziggy, who is at the infirmary, is founded by her sister where as she tries scolding her, Ziggy dodges Cindy's concerns and instead wonders if Mary had any issues instead wanting to know why Ruby did what she did only for Cindy to try be reasonable insisting that Ruby's spree was down to something else and not possession much to Ziggy's annoyance. In the mess hall, Tommy and Cindy continue to clean up as Cindy continues to express her hatred for Alice where as she continues, she ends up stretching the sponge until it tears in half, she swears which amuses Tommy but goes to get a new one.

Upon returning, Cindy discovers that Tommy is missing, as she goes to find him, unbeknownst to her, a figure follows after her. As she returns to the main part of the cabin, Tommy appears and asks her if she's okay but the two are interrupted when Mary appears and apologises for what is about to happen, she then further apologises to Tommy and goes to attack him with the knife she took but is overpowered and sent unconscious by Tommy after falling against a table and hitting her head. Paramedics and the police are called in with Nick's future co-worker Kapinski who apologises for the death of Joseph Goode saying that he was a good man and tells Nick to be careful on him when he becomes his boss. Soon after, Mary is taken away, the incident becomes a talking matter amongst both the campers and counselors as they all, but Cindy, believe it was the work of the witch.

That afternoon, Kurt and Joan prompt both Shadyside and Sunnyvale to do their best with their annual game as Kurt brags about Sunnyvale never losing a game and to "murder those Shadyside witches" as the campers all chant Sunnyvale, Tommy slowly turns away with a headache and continues talking to his friends and girlfriend. During the game, he hears his name being whispered and become distracted with Jeremy getting his focus back and asking if he is okay, Tommy says he's fine and gets the campers to start the game.

That night, in an attempt to prove that Mary's actions were non-supernatural, Cindy takes Tommy to the infirmary to try and prove she is right and comes across unlabelled medication which she insists is what the nurse was on prior to the attack. The two are found by Alice and Arnie with Alice teasing Cindy for agreeing to get the drugs from their earlier conversation with Arnie thinking it was for Cindy. The latter continues to grow annoyed with them and the group come across a book which includes a map with the layout of Nightwing but Cindy soon notes that it is actually Union, the settlement from 1666 long before the camp was established there. Upon discovering this, Alice insists on seeing the mark wanting to see Sarah Fier. The four then head out, as Tommy leaves, he hears more voices but comes back to his senses when Cindy calls his name.

As the four head to the grave, Alice claims that getting to see the site high on drugs would be fun, Arnie agrees and the two take the medication that is unlabelled. They all then head underground and discover that it had been recently visited. As Cindy and Alice go explore, Tommy stays behind and sits down with Arnie becoming weirded out with his behaviour. Tommy then goes quiet and grabs an axe, turns to Arnie and attacks him, the axe goes into his face instantly killing him. His body is soon found by Cindy and Alice who witnessed the murder, as Tommy goes to attack his girlfriend and Alice, the rocks above them collapse which splits the girls away from Tommy. The two then hear their attacker breathing realising he survived. Tommy then leaves the mark and goes to kill the Shadyside campers.

In an attempt to get closer to Ziggy despite the ongoing massacre, Nick helps her get revenge against Sheila which involve trapping her in the outhouse under the impression that she is going to meet Will but instead gets insects dumped on her, as she screams out, Ziggy and Nick then run away to Science and Nature cabin. They continue to bond over questions with Nick wanting to know why Ziggy hates her sister so much only for her to try and dodge the questions then Ziggy told Nick that She believed her life was terrible because she is Shadysider and Nick told her that he didn’t easy life either and being the heir of his own leading family in Sunnyvale then they share a kiss. At camp, Tommy continues to kill more campers which include Jeremy and several others still playing the game.

Now outside, Nick comes across Kurt who questions if he's the killer as he sees the former with blood on him. The two get the remaining campers to the mess hall to safety stating that the game is over. The surviving campers are then instructed to get on the bus to leave Nightwing. Ziggy then wonders where her sister is and Nick says he'd go back out to find her despite a killing being outside. Nick then shows his concern towards Ziggy as the two become closer. As Nick goes to leave, Gary states that Ziggy is a camper. Nick then leaves knowing he would be safe due to both being a Sunnyvale and a Goode.

Still trapped, Cindy and Alice attempted to escape the mark by using the diary as a map but failed to do so after learning their attempts were being proven futile. Upon exploring further, the two discovered a pile of beating organs where upon touching it, Alice experiences visions of the previous killers and their victims. Shortly after, Alice suffered an injury to her leg that resulted in her ankle being severely damaged. In the Mess Hall cabin, Ziggy expresses concerns over the whereabouts of Cindy causing Nick to volunteer to go look for her despite the danger outside, the two start becoming closer as Nick assures Ziggy that he will return safely with Cindy. Just before leaving the cabin, Nick bumps into Gary as the latter points out that Ziggy is a camper. Nick the leaves the cabin and Ziggy realises Sheila is still trapped in the outhouse from the earlier revenge plan.

In the mark, Cindy attempts to be a better person to Alice be re-aligning her broken ankle bone which lead to the two reconciling. Able to stand, Alice and Cindy continued their escape and located a way out through a hole in the outhouse. Above, Ziggy, despite knowing Tommy was still around, rushes to the outhouse and goes to free Sheila only to be knocked back as the latter went to leave. Soon after, Gary found his way over to try free the two stuck under the mark though he was soon found and decapitated by Tommy. After watching Gary's head fall down to them, Cindy and Alice remained trapped.

Above the mark, Ziggy finds her way back to Nick and went to hide with him in the animal shed where inside, the two hid behind one of the tables as Tommy entered knowing that there was a Shadysider inside. As Tommy located her, Nick dove in front of the oncoming attack and was instead hit in the back of the ankle by Tommy's axe causing Nick to gain a limp, a limp that would remain into his adult years, after freeing themselves, Alice and Cindy found their way back to camp as Cindy gained the courage to save herself and her sister as she killed Tommy. Reunited with the Bermans, Alice explained that after she touched the mark, she saw visions of previous massacres as well as Sarah's hand. As her nose began to bleed, she realises the stone was the same one known in the diary as Satan's stone.

As Ziggy goes to grab the severed hand, her nose starts bleeding which causing many of the deceased killers, including Tommy, to be resurrected. Tommy then gets back up and slices Alice in the chest, killing her but is decapitated by Cindy. The Berman sisters then run out to the tree in an effort to the stop the curse but are Surrounded by the Shadyside Killers. As the two dig up the grave, they come across a rock stating that "the witch forever lives". Cindy then picks up on the fact that the killer's intended victim is Ziggy. Cindy is then soon killed followed by her sister. The killers then disappear from the area and Nick returns to the scene, he resuscitates Ziggy using CPR and an incantation but leaves Cindy. As the paramedics and police arrive, Nick looks back at Ziggy who wants him to believe the murders were because Tommy was possessed but Nick states that he just went crazy and lists Ziggy's real name as Christine Berman despite the objection from Ziggy who showed signs of being visually disappointed that the guy she though believed her word, no longer believed her.

3rd of October 1994[]

After finishing the story, Josh and Deena discover that C.Berman is not Cindy but instead Ziggy and learn that by uniting the hand with the body, the curse can end for good. The two head to Shadyside Mall which is where Camp Nightwing used to be. After the two left Ziggy, Ziggy calls Nick as the siblings head to the tree, Deena grabs the hand and takes her brother to the burial site to reunite it with Sarah's body. As she does so, Deena then sees a vision where she is Sarah.
