Deena Johnson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, she is the older sister of Josh Johnson, girlfriend of Samantha "Sam" Fraser and best friend of Simon Kalivoda and Kate Schmidt. She is a resident of Shadyside, Ohio, United States.
She appeared in Fear Street Part 1: 1994 and its sequels Fear Street Part 2: 1978 and Fear Street Part 3: 1666 portrayed by Kiana Madeira.
Early life[]
Deena was born to her parents in Shadyside, Ohio, United States in 1978. Eventually, she became the older sister of Josh and the two were soon raised by their father with their mother either leaving or dying. Deena and Josh lived in the Johnson house in Shadyside.
Around 1992, she began attending Shadyside High School.
History[]
On the morning of the 1st of October, 1994, Deena woke up and prepared herself for school before writing a note and packing a box of items for her ex-girlfriend as she planned to give them to her. Before leaving the house, Deena got Josh from his computer and the two left for school.
At the school, Deena thought about Sam while she saw another couple. In the bathroom, she met up with Simon and Kate where the three spoke about the murder of Heather Watkins about both the curse of Shadyside and Sarah Fier though Deena insisted Ryan Torres had only killed Heather because he was upset with his life and that he had not been possessed.
After Kate convinced Deena that she had to be the one to confront Sam as she did not want to be involved with her friend's drama. Deena then journeyed to Sunnyvale High School with the rest of the attendees despite having quit band. While she stood with the rest of her school and those from Sunnyvale High, she saw Peter Brody groping Sam and intended to speak to her about it before walking away.
While arguing with Sam regarding their relationship, Sam told her that she was only half an hour away but claimed that if Deena did not change her attitude, she would be like her father by 2004. During their conversation, Deena also remarked that Sam should have fought harder with her mother before she had forcibly been moved to Sunnyvale.
On the way back to the high school, the bus was chased down by Peter, Sam and one of the other Sunnyvale students where Deena, with Kate's help, threw a cooler at the car causing it to crash and causing Sheriff Nicholas "Nick" Goode to be dispatched to the scene. When Nick questioned Deena, she claimed to be innocent before Nick admitted the bus driver had seen her with the cooler.
That night, Deena stayed at home with Josh though when she discovered someone had been stalking her house and assumed it to be Peter. Believing it was Peter, she sent a message to Kate through her pager stating that it was an emergency. When Kate called, Deena asked where she was with Kate explaining she was babysitting and proved she was not too far by turning the light on and off.
During the conversation, Deena confessed she was being stalked and asked Kate and Simon for help. When the two left the twins in the care of Mary Lane, they made their way to the Johnson house to talk about who they assumed was Peter. After talking, the group went to Shadyside Hospital with Deena wanting to see Sam.
Inside the hospital and after Kate and Simon got Deena through by speaking with Nurse Beddy, Deena spoke with Sam where she claimed that Peter had stalked her though Sam insisted he had been with her all night. As the two talked, Peter entered the room to tell Sam she could be discharged soon where Deena confronted him about the earlier incident but when Ryan entered the room, Deena and Sam witnessed Peter be stabbed.
Upon escaping, Deena and Sam made their way to the other three and escaped once they saw the bodies of those Ryan had killed when he entered. Once away from the hospital, the group went to the Shadyside Police Station to talk with Nick. In the encounter, Sam and Deena explained the situation but were not taken seriously with Nick remarking the station had been called multiple times that night with false reports. Before they left, Deena stole a gun from Officer Kapinski by yelling at him and demanded that he do his job in keeping Shadyside safe causing the officer to get her and Sam to leave and that their boyfriends should calm them down.
Outside, when Simon became under attack due to Ruby Lane, Deena stopped her by shooting Ruby and saving Simon before he was killed. Once safe, the five retreated back to the Johnson house where Josh explained the history of the Shadyside killers.
