Profile[]

Ziggy is an outcast from Shadyside who doesn't get along with anybody aside from the camp nurse, Mary Lane. She is bullied by a group of Sunnyvalers who taunt her by calling her witch but she maintains her tough outward exterior, even against her own sister, Cindy Berman. She doesn't get along with her older sister, who aspires to leave their town behind her and subscribes to the belief that Shadyside is cursed and nobody can make it out of there no matter how hard they try, and therefore her sister's efforts will be in vain.

Ziggy stems from a broken home. Her father left and her mother started drinking. Her mother being the sole breadwinner is putting a financial strain on their house, and putting them at risk of losing their house. Ziggy holds a lot of resentment towards her sister for her avoidance of their issues, and for her skepticism and pretentiousness.

Story[]

C. Berman, or Ziggy, is a main protagonist in the The Fear Street Trilogy. She was first properly introduced in the sequel as a camper to Camp Nightwing running away from some bullies them being Sheila and her friends but as she runs, she is knocked down after running into Will Goode's arm and lands on the ground and her nose begins to bleed. She's then taken by the group to the three as they chant Sarah Fier's chant but is saved by Nick after her arm is burnt. She is only acknowledged in Fear Street Part 1: 1994 as C.Berman

Ziggy goes to visit Nurse Lane who treats her wound where it's shown that Mary is the only person at the camp that she seems to trust however this doesn't last long as the nurse is taken away by paramedics after attempting murder on Tommy as she stares on after the incident, she is called a witch by Sheila and told to go check her cabin which she does only to go plan revenge.

When Nick goes to find the missing Ziggy upon inspection he discovers that her cabin has been vandalised with words to insult the camper such as "Ziggy is a witch bitch" and "Ziggy sucks cocks in hell" which prompts Nick that the two should should get revenge another way to which she agrees. Sheila is pranked by having insects dumped on her as a reference to Carrie by Stephen King who Nick is a fan of.

At the end, she is seen attempting to uncover the truth alongside her sister and Alice only to witness the latter's death, she is killed by Harry Rooker towards the end of the recap only to be brought by Nick who then states that the survivor's name is Christine.

In 1994 after telling the story to the Johnson siblings they find out that C.Berman was Ziggy the entire time however before telling them about the massacre, she says she doesn't want to help the two with the possessed Sam who had been locked in the car though eventually agrees.

She is also part of the group that put a stop to the curse by helping to trap the killers in the shops at the mall. The killer she traps is Tommy who she had not come across since her first encounter with him just 16 years prior. After everything is over she is seen handing a book to a confused woman who happens to be nurse Lane showing that after the events of 1978 she did not forget her.

Trivia[]
